Our Prayer for 9/11

During the first Our Prayer for 9/11

During the first week of September 2001 we went about our lives. Most of us have no idea what happened to us during those days, or where we were at a certain time during any given day. Life was as usual.

At 8:46am Eastern time on September 11, 2001 we have a good idea of where we were or what we were doing when we first heard of the attack taking place on our country. Almost 3000 died that day, 400 were first responders who died doing what they were called to do. Since then over 7400 military personal have died protecting our freedoms and our way of life. Our way of life has changed in ways that a generation already has accepted as normal.

Lord we do not understand why these things happen. We pray that we can trust in You and Your plan. We are thankful Lord for the courage you have given those who walk in the face of danger to help others, who are willing to give the ultimate sacrifice. Many simply went to work that day and they were victims of a cowardly act. We pray for the families and loved ones of those courageous and innocent souls.

Lord we pray that more of us turn to You for answers, turn to You for guidance, and take comfort in Your promise.

2Corinthians 5:1
If the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Thank you Lord for those who put service above self, may more join our ranks and decide to make a difference to those in need.
Lord we pray for our country as we remember the events of that day and the days since.
Lord we pray for strength that we can only get from You.

Amen
